Signs you need spider control

• Webs reappearing in the same corners days after you clear them
• Egg sacs in the garage, under eaves or behind stored boxes
• Funnel webs in the corners of a crawlspace or basement
• Spiders concentrated around exterior lights and doorways after dark
• Dark, glossy spiders with markings under decking, steps or woodpiles

Why it happens

Spiders follow prey. A house with a spider problem almost always has an insect problem first, usually flies or gnats drawn to exterior lighting. Treating spiders while ignoring what feeds them produces a short-lived result.

The part people underestimate

Most species are harmless, but brown recluse and widow spiders are a different matter, and both favour undisturbed garages, crawlspaces and stored boxes.

How we handle it

Identify the species, remove what is present, seal every route in, then clean up what was left behind. Those last two steps are the difference between a fix and a postponement, and they are inside the quoted price rather than added later.
