Signs you need bat removal

• Bats emerging from under the eaves in the half hour after sunset
• Dark greasy staining around a narrow gap in siding or at the ridge
• A sharpening ammonia smell developing in the attic
• Guano piled on insulation, inside a soffit or on a porch below
• Squeaking or scrabbling from a wall cavity on warm evenings

Why it happens

Bats do not chew their way in. They compress through gaps a person would walk past without noticing, typically where a chimney meets the roof or where two roof planes join. A colony returns to the same roost season after season.

The part people underestimate

Guano accumulates faster than people expect, and the ammonia and airborne spores it generates are the genuine hazard. Cleanup is part of the job, not an add-on.

How we handle it

Identify the species, remove what is present, seal every route in, then clean up what was left behind. Those last two steps are the difference between a fix and a postponement, and they are inside the quoted price rather than added later.
