Signs you need opossum removal

• A heavy, slow animal moving under the deck or shed after dark
• A hole dug out at the corner of a deck skirt or foundation lattice
• Scattered rubbish, fruit or pet food around one particular spot
• A strong musky smell coming from a crawlspace vent

Why it happens

Opossums are opportunists rather than excavators. They take over a space something else opened: an old groundhog burrow under a shed, a gap where crawlspace lattice has come loose, a deck skirt that has rotted at one corner.

The part people underestimate

They are messy tenants. Droppings, food debris and a strong odour accumulate quickly under a deck or in a crawlspace, and they carry fleas and ticks in with them.

How we handle it

Identify the species, remove what is present, seal every route in, then clean up what was left behind. Those last two steps are the difference between a fix and a postponement, and they are inside the quoted price rather than added later.
